North Charleston Arts Festival
April 29 through May 7, the North Charleston Arts Festival highlights national, regional and local artists in dance, theater, music, film, and visual and literary arts. The Main Event offers more than 40 performances, exhibitions, children's activities, and arts & crafts. Other activities include street dances, concerts, literary events and an Art Walk. And don't miss the finale: a brilliant fireworks display over the Cooper River.

Artisphere in Greenville
Downtown Greenville is the setting for Artisphere May 13-15. Browse Artists Row, where 120 artists from across the country display and sell their work: jewelry, ceramics, fiber, wood, glass and more. Move to the beat of Indie/rock, soul and blues, or take in a theatrical, dance or symphony performance. Be sure to visit Kidsphere, where budding young artists can create their own masterpieces.

Spoleto and Piccolo in Charleston
From Irish theater to New Orleans jazz, Spoleto Festival USA in historic Charleston showcases nationally and internationally acclaimed artists in opera, theater, dance, music theater and jazz. Choose from more than 150 performances! Piccolo Spoleto, organized as a companion festival to Spoleto, presents local and regional performing and visual artists in hundreds of free performances and exhibitions. Both events run May 27-June 12.

Sculpture in the South
Celebrating the arts through sculpture is the hallmark of Summerville's Sculpture in the South show and sale. Held May 14-15, this outdoor event offers seasoned collectors and first-time buyers a chance to meet 35 leading sculptors as they display and sell their original artwork. Student artwork, children's activities and workshops round out the weekend.

S.C. Book Festival
Book lovers will flock to Columbia for the S.C. Book Festival May 14-15 to enjoy readings and presentations on topics ranging from new fiction trends to outstanding poetry. Shop for new books or a rare edition from book dealers, antiquarians, publishers, independent presses and individual writers. Chat with your favorite author, who will be happy to autograph your book!
