President Trump's election victory in November 2024 has been followed by Bitcoin's jump from roughly $70,000 to above $123,000 before dipping to $117.340 on Tuesday, July 29. The pause in the latest upward trend is eclipsed by a recent dip that could be gone in a blip, Bitcoin bulls are saying.
Relaxed regulation of cryptocurrency by the President Trump administration has been accompanied by increasingly crypto-friendly voting in both houses of Congress. The latest example occurred on July 18 with passage of the GENIUS Act, which set up regulatory norms for the crypto space to forge a connection between crypto and the dollar with requirements for backing with U.S. treasury bills, according to the TNT Trader advisory service.

"Overall, the health of the economy is good, and we are moving back into an interesting earnings season, where analysts are wondering if we are going to see increased numbers due to AI implementation," according to Mark Skousen, PhD, in the latest issue of his TNT Trader advisory service that recommends both stocks and related options. "We will be keeping an eye on this as most of our portfolio will announce earnings in the coming weeks."
Bitcoin traded above $123,000 into record high territory at its peak point on Monday, July 14, following inflows to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) of the cryptocurrency. That is good for TNT Trader subscribers, Bitcoin investments to consider as President Trump spurs acceptance of cryptocurrency recently received another regulatory lift.
Since President Trump won election in November 2024, the price of bitcoin has surged from roughly $70,000 to $120,000 before the recent slip. The ascent has not been steady, but the upward trend is clear.
Relaxed regulation of cryptocurrency supported by President Trump has been accompanied by increasingly crypto-friendly voting in both Congress, too. The latest example last week's passage of the GENIUS Act, which set up regulatory norms for the crypto space and solidifies a connection between crypto and the dollar with requirements for backing with U.S. treasury bills, according to the TNT Trader advisory service.

Three Cryptocurrency Investments used as a Proxy for Bitcoin Investments: Hits High
"Bitcoin is near an all-time high," according to the latest TNT Trader advisory sent Tuesday, July 22. Even the cryptocurrency Solana is back above $200 and moving up, the advisory service added.
Solana is up but its price target is "much higher," so hold, advised TNT Trader, which also is aided by cryptocurrency-focused Tim Skousen, the son of Mark Skousen. The elder Skousen also has led the Forecasts & Strategies investment newsletter for more than four decades.
Mark Skousen, editor of Forecast & Strategies. the advisory service had recommended Bitcoin and it has soared 201% since then.

It sounds like a conspiracy theory, I know, but it's not. You can judge for yourself by watching this interview. Click Here... | | | Three Cryptocurrency Investments used as a Proxy for Bitcoin Investments: BLOK
Investors may want to buy shares in equities that are tied to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, blockchain technology or both. One speculative recommendation that adds alpha to the Forecasts & Strategies newsletter portfolio is Amplify Transformational Data Fund (NYSEArca: BLOK). The fund invests in crypto and blockchain technology.
BLOK invests in companies that finance cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. TNT Trader notched an average 120.54% gain in BLOK late in 2024 by buying call options in the fund and selling them in three different segments. The exposure to blockchain technology helps the fund diversify beyond a pure play in Bitcoin.

BLOK is up 135.02% since the investment newsletter recommended it on December 4, 2023. The momentum seems sustainable, aside from normal volatility, according to the publication's latest updates.

Bob Carlson, the head of the Retirement Watch investment newsletter and his proprietary IRA Calculator that helps investors assess whether a traditional IRA should be converted into a Roth IRA, recommended Schwab Crypto Thematic (STCE) to his subscribers in the publication's March 2025 issue. Carlson wrote that STCE has a diversified portfolio of about 40 securities of companies involved in various aspects of blockchain technology, digital asset and digital currencies. About 62% of the fund is in the 10 largest positions.
"The government pays the debts with currency that has reduced purchasing power," Carlson advised. "Investors worry the perpetual deficits in the U.S. could lead to this result."

The fund's largest positions are MicroStrategy (NASDAQ: MSTR), Coinbase Global (NASDAQ: COIN), Hut 8 (NASDAQ: HUT), Cipher Mining (NASDAQ: CIFR) and Iris Energy (NASDAQ: IREN). STCE, launched in mid-2022, has paid dividends every six months since then. Its latest dividend yield is 0.21%.

Three Cryptocurrency Investments used as a Proxy for Bitcoin Investments: COIN
Coinbase Global (NASDAQ: COIN) is unique company in the cryptocurrency industry, in part because its employees can work from anywhere and it has no headquarters. Despite previously having a main office in San Francisco, it adopted a remote-first model in 2020 and has since leased office space in San Francisco's Mission Rock development. However, the new space is just its largest office, not a true headquarters.
Citi Research issued a positive report on Coinbase on Tuesday, July 29, while acknowledged it also is high risk. Coinbase has enjoyed several catalysts in recent weeks, including: (i) signing of the GENIUS Act (stablecoins), (ii) House passage of the CLARITY Act (market structure), and (iii) inclusion in the S&P 500, according to the investment firm.
"We also believe investors are beginning to place a premium on blockchain innovations applicable for real-world activities," the report added. "Coinbase has also announced new payments functionality, a refreshed and more user-friendly wallet app, and sees tokenized equities as a huge priority."
The investment firm forecasts upside for COIN from adding futures and options, as well as benefiting from its category leadership in the forthcoming regulated era of crypto. As a result, Citi Research boosted its price target to $505, up from $270, due to mark-to-market adjustments and higher long-term subscription and sales growth assumptions.

While the July 18th passage of the GENIUS ( Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins) provided some clarity on cryptocurrency, it is only the "first step," said Michelle Connell, who heads Dallas-based Portia Capital Management. The fact that oversight of this asset class still needs to be determined gives me pause, he added.
"There are a lot of big and small players in cryptocurrency and I feel like investors are entering the Wild West days of this unregulated and relatively new asset class," Connell told me. "No one needs to be a cowboy."

Three Cryptocurrency Investments used as a Proxy for Bitcoin Investments: Genius Act
The Genius Act is intended by the Trump administration to:
-pave the way for the United States to lead the "global digital currency revolution."
-prioritize consumer protection, strengthening the U.S. dollar's reserve currency status and bolstering U.S. national security.
-transform America into the undisputed leader in digital assets, luring investment and innovation.
-protect consumers from nefarious actors in financial markets by creating the first federal regulatory system for stablecoins, ensuring their stability with reserve requirements.
-require 100% reserve backing with liquid assets like U.S. dollars or short-term Treasuries, requiring issuers to make monthly, public disclosures of the composition of reserves.
-force stablecoin issuers to comply with marketing rules to protect consumers from deceptive practices such as making misleading claims that their stablecoins are backed by the U.S. government, by legal tender or federally insured.
-align state and federal stablecoin frameworks, ensuring fair and consistent U.S. regulation.
-put stablecoin holders' claims above other creditors, offering consumer protection.
The three cryptocurrency investments used as a proxy for Bitcoin offer potent potential for the long term. Investors seeking equities that have gone on sale at a slight discount may be rewarded, especially with rising geopolitical risk as wars rage around the world.
