Puglia & Basilicata Culinary Tour May & September 2020

We are offering our culinary tour to Puglia and Basilicata, in southern Italy, from May 24-30, 2020 and from September 20-26, 2020.   We'll stay at a newly renovated 18th century Masseria (family-run wine and olive oil estate).  We'll cook together every morning, lunch al fresco, perhaps swim in the private pool before exploring nearby towns like Alberobello, Carovigno, Altamura, and Polignano a Mare and enjoying dinner at the region's finest restaurants. We'll even foray into nearby Basilicata and visit the breathtaking town of Matera, now on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

There will be an olive oil tasting, a wine tasting, a visit to a renowned bread bakery, and the opportunity to meet local chefs and food artisans.  We'll visit a Mozzarella factory where we can see how southern Italy's most famous cheese is made first-hand, and a gelateria to learn all about (and taste plenty of!) traditional gelato.

All activities, meals with wine, and cooking classes are included as part of the tour cost once you arrive at the estate. The estate is conveniently located 30 minutes from the Bari airport, making travel from other regions easy.

You can read more about the tour and see photos here: https://www.rusticocooking.com/pugliatour.htm

Don't wait too long to reserve;  as on all our tours, space is limited! Call 917 602 1519 or email micol@rusticocooking.com with questions or to book!

Tuscany & Beyond Culinary Tour June 9 -15, 2020

villapool

Our first trip to this region sold out fast, so we'll be coming back to Tuscany from June 9-15 2020.  This unique culinary vacation offers a rare chance to live like a Tuscan for a week. We'll stay on the sprawling grounds of a fifteenth-century stone villa with a splendid view of Tuscany's rolling hills. We'll spend mornings cooking traditional Italian dishes to be enjoyed in the rustic dining room or on the vast terrace overlooking olive groves and cypress trees below.

And if you prefer to skip the morning cooking class, you can relax by the infinity pool, take horseback riding lessons, or book a massage at the estate's own spa before coming back for the lunch we've prepared (you won't want to miss that!!!)  and then heading out for an afternoon of sightseeing and culinary discovery. Thanks to the villa's proximity to 3 other regions of Italy, we'll also visit Umbria, the Marches, and Emilia-Romagna, savoring four distinct culinary traditions during our stay.
