Grab a bite on the way to the beach!
Summertime is made for a South Carolina vacation, so pack the car (and the kids) for an exciting and tasty road trip! Along the way to your beach vacation or family reunion, there are some must-stop places to grab a bite. Stop in Abbeville to savor a home cooked meal at Yoder's Restaurant. Or stretch your legs at King's Farm Market on Edisto Island and sink your teeth into a slice of fresh-baked tomato, key lime or tangy summertime pie. For a dip of some of the creamiest ice cream around, be sure to swing by McBee and McLeod Farms Roadside Market. A cup of Joe from the Sippin' Cow in Bluffton will help you get through the last stretch of your drive. And don't miss out on the shrimp burger from the Shrimp Shack on St. Helena Island.

South Carolina snacks for the long trip home.
There's no leaving South Carolina without some of our famous flavors in your cooler or snack bags. You'll pass plenty of roadside stands and farmers markets where you can load up on the official snack food of South Carolina - boiled peanuts! Or how about some South Carolina grown peaches? Sweet, juicy, mouth-watering goodness! If you have a hankering for something sweet while you're on the road, a bag of benne wafers will do the trick. And no trip to the beach is complete without picking up a pound or two of saltwater taffy - some for you and some for your friends back home.

Take the road less traveled for the Ridge Peach Festival.
Take the road less traveled and stop in Trenton, SC, on June 18 for the annual Ridge Peach Festival. Every bite will be worth the trip! Enjoy fresh farm peaches, homemade peach preserves and even peach ice cream. A parade, kids' rides, a softball tournament and live entertainment all add up to be a day of good, wholesome family fun in Edgefield County - and what could be more peachy than that?

New Cosmic Dog opening in Charleston
A hot dog from Jack's Cosmic Dogs off US 17 in Mt. Pleasant is worth the trip. And with the opening of a third location, at 817 St. Andrews Blvd. in Charleston, biting into one is easier than ever! Dogs and toppings so good they were featured on The Food Network's "The Best Thing I Ever Ate."

Let's go Spoleto!
The internationally renowned Spoleto Festival USA will energize historic Charleston May 27 through June 12. With more than 120 performances and 150 events from visual arts exhibits to classical music, poetry readings to children's activities and more, Spoleto is a spectacle not to be missed.
