President Trump has reportedly fired at least 12 inspectors general from various federal agencies, according to multiple sources. These dismissals, which occurred on Friday night, may violate federal laws that require a 30-day notice to Congress before terminating a Senate-confirmed inspector general. The departments affected include Defense, State, Transportation, Veterans Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Energy, Commerce, Agriculture, and the Environmental Protection Agency. However, the Justice Department's inspector general was not among those dismissed. Michael Missal, from the Department of Veterans Affairs, confirmed his own dismissal in an email to his staff.
