For eleven months and maybe about twenty days each year, we concentrate upon the shortcomings of others, but for a few days at the turn of the New Year we look at our own. It is a good habit.

🤔 My Thoughts

Tesla is down 5% as I write this, and it’s in the news for an apparent bomb going off in a Tesla Cybertruck in front of a Las Vegas Trump tower.

Some on social media are calling it a metaphor for the recent mess Elon found himself in for wading into the H1B immigration fight, and angering large swaths of the Trump voter base.

Elon had been celebrated by the Trump movement, for buying Twitter and stopping the censorship of many conservative accounts. He also donated over $100 million to Trump super PACS.

But recently, he came out in favor of increasing H1B immigration, which many in the Trump movement believe will suppress wages of American citizens, in key white collar sectors like tech.

So the bloom is off the rose. And he may not get quite as favorable policies from the Trump admin as initally expected.

Again - never bet against Elon! People have lit billions on fire by shorting Tesla.

But it may be time to look at other EV stocks to bet on, like Chinese behemoth BYD.

We haven’t done a deep dive yet, but here’s the ticker if you want to check it out on a US exchange:

OTCMKTS: BYDDY
