| | Lahti, Finland | Spartan touched down in Finland's rugged landscapes for the first time ever as Lahti played host to the European Championship 2025 . Racers took on Sprint, Super and Beast (as the European title race), as well as Kids courses amid the ancient Salpausselkä ridge, where rocky ridgelines and ancient glacial terrain met fierce Spartan grit. Racers faced a course amongst breathtaking Finnish landscapes that took racers through lakes, challenged them to a brutal carry section and took them to new heights with a climb to the top of the Ski Slope - testing even the hardiest Spartan's determination. Some of the best talent in European OCR finished in fast paced flurry to secure their podium spots with lots of tightly fought battles amongst the top spots. | | | Elk Grove, California | Set against the historic Mahon cattle ranch, this NorCal weekend brought Spartan grit to deep-rooted Western heritage. A fast, flat course led racers through sand, mud, creek crossings, and open fields under scorching 100°F sun. With 4,500 Spartans turning up the heat, it was all about push-through persistence under dry, punishing conditions—fast feet, muddy trails, and fierce determination kept energy at a boil. | | | Calabogie Peaks, Ontario | At Calabogie Peaks just outside Ottawa, Spartans took on steep climbs, slick descents, and forest paths drenched in sunlight. The venue's dramatic terrain, capped by a sandy beach finish, offered one of the weekend's toughest twists: racers had to swim 60 feet out to a small island, grind through 30 burpees, then swim back before continuing. Across all formats, the course tested grit and endurance, while a full-blown award marathon lit up the festival area Sunday with DJs, giveaways, and an energized crowd turning the podium ceremony into a highlight of the weekend. | | | Rockford, Illinois | At Rockford International Airport, one of the world's largest cargo hubs, Tough Mudder Chicago turned a runway-adjacent site into a muddy obstacle fest. Nearly 8,000 Mudders powered through cornfields, soaked marshland, and under live flight paths—urban chaos meets rural grit. Cool, breezy weather kept sweat in check, while surreal sights and piles of mud made every obstacle feel bigger than life. | | | Calabogie Peaks, Ontario | The trails of Calabogie Peaks delivered a true test for runners as they wound through rugged mountain terrain, forested singletrack, and lakeside stretches that showed off the best of the Ottawa Valley. With distances ranging from the 10K to the Half Marathon, athletes were treated to stunning views paired with leg-burning climbs and fast, technical descents. Whether gunning for a podium or simply soaking in the natural beauty, every runner left with a deeper appreciation for the peaks, forests, and trails that make Calabogie such a hidden gem in the Canadian race calendar. | | | |
