WEEKEND RECAP TURTLEBOX
BELMONT, MICHIGAN
Spartans brought serious grit and high energy to the quiet town of Belmont, just outside Grand Rapids, where the course delivered flowy trails and tough climbs. Over 6,000 racers took on the Sprint, Super, and Kids races, pushing themselves through every twist and turn. The Super course hit especially hard with the infamous "sand bowl," a section that left racers wondering if they were on a beach, a mountain, or just in pure suffering. And just when they thought they'd conquered the last climb, a brutal uphill barbed wire crawl made sure the finish line was truly earned.
BERLIN, GERMANY
Spartan Berlin turned up the heat as more than 2,000 racers tackled the flat but demanding terrain of Spargelhof-Klaistow under Sunday's blazing sun. While the course lacked steep climbs, it made racers earn every mile with dense forest trails, loose sand, and relentless mud pits. Athletes chasing the One-Day Trifecta were put to the test, grinding through the Sprint, Super, and Beast in a single day. The Beast, part of the Germany/Austria Series, saw fierce competition, with Helena Schuster and Ihar Harbunou claiming top honors.
MADRID, SPAIN
DEKA Madrid made history as 3,000 athletes packed into the Madrid Arena for the largest DEKA event ever held in Spain and a new worldwide record for participation. At the heart of it all was the DEKA Cup Madrid 2025, drawing Spain's top athletes in an Elite showdown that came down to mere seconds. The women's race was decided by just 3 seconds, while the men's top two were separated by only 8 seconds, showing just how competitive the field has become. In the Teams division, Aitor and Pau set the tone with a blistering 25:33 finish, solidifying their status as the top DEKA duo in Spain.
BERLIN, GERMANY
Tough Mudder Berlin transformed an asparagus adventure farm into a mud-soaked playground for 5,000 athletes eager to get dirty. The flat but ever-changing course twisted through open fields, forest trails, sandy stretches, and signature Tough Mudder obstacles built to push grit and teamwork to the limit. Fan-favorites like Blockness Monster, Electroshock Therapy, and Arctic Enema brought chaos and laughs in equal measure. With both 5K and 15K distances on deck, the course welcomed seasoned Mudders and first-timers alike.
KYIV, UKRAINE
The Spartan Hurricane Heat & Trail Weekend in Ukraine, brought a powerful mix of endurance, community, and scenic competition to the Kyiv region. Trail runners tackled a fast, flowing 10K course with 180m of elevation, winding through forests, fields, and tight singletrack under perfect race-day weather. The terrain kept things dynamic, testing footwork and stamina, while the sunny skies and light rain added a refreshing touch. With a festive finish line and fierce competition, including podium times under 37 minutes, Ukraine proved once again it's home to serious endurance spirit and Spartan grit.
