Desserts That Say “I Love You”

No matter if that special someone you're baking for is a significant other or yourself.

If you don't end up completely overwhelmed by the amount of chips and dips you consume on Super Bowl Sunday, you may get into some serious Valentine's Day baking—no matter if that special someone you're baking for is a significant other or yourself. I know there can be a lot of pressure surrounding the holiday. I feel it, too. But we all deserve a little extra TLC right now, particularly for ourselves, so don't forget to have fun.

Depending on your level of commitment for this rosey day there are a couple strategies to consider.
1. Go Big: You've been thinking about this for months. From breakfast to dessert, you're showering the day in heart-shaped confections. It's a Monday, but you either already whipped up a dreamy quiche the night before or woke up early to make crepes to order. Dinner is just the precursor to the spectacle you're putting on for the ultimate indulgent chocolate situation.
2. You're Doing What You Can: You hoped, you dreamed, but the weekend got the best of you. You don't knead (pun intended) to pull out all the stops to show you care. If someone served up a cocktail and sweet delight (even if it's a simple one-bowl brownie), I would be floored. Most importantly, don't sleep on the glory and simplicity of crepe cake.
3. You're Just Here for a Good Time: I love an excuse to shower everyone in baked goods even if it's just to show them the latest recipe I've even perfected. But, there's something about gifting a homemade treat, like salted caramels or pie pops, that make the good feels come full circle. Alternatively, it's the perfect chance to host a cookie decorating party or hot chocolate party.
4. Celebrating Yourself: Even if you do have a special someone, sometimes you just gotta treat yo'self (in my best Aziz Ansari and Retta voice). Go to town on a personal bread bowl, try your hand at a new recipe, or order takeout and follow it up with a personal molten lava cake. Because, YOU deserve it.
