Take a dip in the world's largest pond How cool would it be to tell your friends that you swam in the world's largest pond?! You can have that bragging right when you visit Langley Pond in Aiken County. But that's not all you can do at this swimming hole. It's part of Langley Pond Park, so there's a playground, a picnic area and a couple of docks. Bring the family to cool off and hang out. Swim at state parks What do Poinsett, Aiken, Lee, Barnwell and Cheraw state parks have in common? They're just right for swimming! Come out and play – and swim – during the dog days of summer. It's a cool option for your family vacation. And it's cheap! Admission is only two bucks for adults at Aiken and the other three parks are free. Make a splash and fond memories, too. Dive in to read more. Healing and quenching water If you're taking a road trip through western South Carolina, pull over for cold drink of water at Healing Springs in Blackville. Oh, and be sure to bring an empty bottle or two for the trip. Legend has it that drinking and bathing in water from the springs can heal you. After all, the site is also called God's Acre. While you're in town, have lunch at Miller's Bread-Basket. Atalaya Festival Save the dates for the 2014 Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival, Sept. 27-29, in Murrells Inlet. Enjoy fine art, quality crafts, Lowcountry food, and the area's finest musicians. Bean Market On your way to the beach, visit Lake City. There's no lake, but stop by and discover the historic Bean Market where farmers from across the South once came. Just call ahead. Martha Lou's Kitchen Congratulations to Martha Lou's Kitchen!
