The migrant caravan en route to the U.S. southern border has doubled in size to over 7,000 people in just 24 hours.
Originally estimated to be 3,500, the caravan includes migrants from multiple Latin American countries. They started their journey in Tapachula, southern Mexico, and are making their way north. This development comes as President Joe Biden faces scrutiny for his immigration policies.
One of the caravan's organizers, U.S. citizen Irineo Mujica, criticized the Biden administration for its handling of the situation. He accused Latin American leaders of intentionally creating an immigration crisis to secure financial aid from the U.S.
