Pickin' time is almost here. Visit Cottle Strawberry Farm's new location on Trotter Road in Columbia or Ambrose Family Farm on Wadmalaw Island for great pickin'. Breland Hill Strawberry Barn in Ruffin is a great place to relax in the picnic area or watch the kids have a ball on the playground. Or if you don't want to worry about dirt and mud, head to the mulched aisles of Hunter Farms in Easley. No matter which location you choose, the pickin' will be perfect. It's all about the berries in South Carolina. If you're looking for strawberry festivals, South Carolina's got 'em. The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall Plantation offers amusement rides, a pie eating contest and musical performances, while you can enjoy pony rides and games with your berries at the Aiken Strawberry Festival on May 7. How about a strawberry festival on a farm? Just head to McLeod Farms' Strawberry Festival in McBee on May 14. And if you're in the Rock Hill area, head to Fort Mill May 6-7 and enjoy the foot-stompin' "strawberry jam" at the South Carolina Strawberry Festival, or the delicious treats at the Strawberry Festival in Slater on May 21.
