News Today:
President Trump has an approval rating of 52 percent after his first month back in office, per a recent Harvard CAPS/Harris poll. The poll indicates that 33 percent of respondents strongly approve of his performance, with an additional 19 percent somewhat approving. In contrast, 43 percent disapprove, mainly strongly, and 5 percent are undecided. The poll highlights strong partisan divisions, with about 90 percent of Republicans approving and nearly 80 percent of Democrats disapproving. Independents are split. Trump's policy initiatives generally receive higher support than his overall approval, with a majority preferring his handling of matters over former President Biden, particularly in areas like the economy, immigration, foreign affairs, and government operations. Most of his policies, except one, garnered majority approval, notably his immigration stance on deporting criminal undocumented immigrants, which 81 percent support. The least favored policy is the proposed renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to "Gulf of America," with only 39 percent backing. The poll suggests a cautious "wait and see" approach from the public on Trump's presidency.
