News Alert
Fox News is countering former President Donald Trump's statement that their staff had a hand in crafting jokes for a speech he gave at a Catholic charity event. On "Fox & Friends," when host Steve Doocy inquired about the authorship of Trump's jokes, Trump mentioned that "some people from Fox" were involved, although he expressed dissatisfaction with most of the material. However, Fox News has officially denied any involvement, stating that neither employees nor freelancers contributed to Trump’s jokes. It was noted, though, that comedian Nick Di Paolo, who occasionally writes for Fox's "Gutfeld!" show, did provide some jokes to Trump.

During his speech at the Al Smith dinner, an event traditionally attended by presidential nominees, Trump opted to forgo self-deprecating humor, instead choosing to criticize Democrats and Vice President Harris, who participated via video. This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by both Trump and Fox News to distance themselves from any perceived direct collaboration on his speech at the event.
