Trump Gets Great News Facebook Lifts Restrictions on Trump, Allowing Equal Presence with Biden on Social Media   “In assessing our responsibility to allow political expression, we believe that the American people should be able to hear from the nominees for President on the same basis,” stated Nick Clegg, Meta’s president of global affairs, in a statement on the company’s website Friday.   Clegg emphasized that both Biden and Trump are still subject to the same “community standards” that apply to all users of Meta’s platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.   Facebook, the world’s largest social media platform, was a significant tool for publicity and a crucial avenue for garnering donations from supporters during both of Trump’s previous campaigns.   Currently, however, Trump has been frequently posting on his own Truth Social platform, which he launched after being suspended by Facebook and other social media sites.
