Biden Says Only 'Bad Guys' Want Trump To Win Again, Is He Right?

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is pushing forward with legislation aimed at counteracting a recent Supreme Court decision that affirmed presidential immunity for official acts. This initiative seeks to categorize former President Donald Trump’s actions related to the Jan. 6 incident as unofficial, making them exempt from such immunity. Schumer's efforts come in response to what he perceives as an erroneous extension of immunity by the Supreme Court, which he argues could shield presidents from accountability for acts that threaten democratic principles. 

 

The proposed bill faces uncertain prospects in the Senate, where a narrow Democratic majority complicates its passage, and strong opposition from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who criticizes the move as an overreach against the judiciary.
