First, please let us say the most sincere thank you from the bottom of our sappy little hearts. Thank you for seeing us, giving our small family business a chance by purchasing our products, sharing your stories and kind words, and giving us feedback on every level to keep us thinking, innovating, and always striving to improve. Thank you for caring enough to engage with us, explore what we have to offer, consider what we have to say, and join us on this journey to unlock the true sweetness of sleep. It is not a stretch by any means to say that your support has kept our dreams alive.
The outcome of your support has been the growth and blossoming of this little seedling of a company we created. We have recently started to see many fruits (in our case, honeydews of course) as a result of everything we have poured into our business up to this point. We have been tremendously honored to be written up and recognized by some of our most respected publications, including our recent win of an Oprah O-Ward (how cute is that?) for Best Side Sleeper Pillow. Accolades such as this have meant the world to us because we have really dedicated our lives to creating a product worthy of such praise. After all, that is why Honeydew even came to be, and the core of what keeps us going today: the pursuit of sleep so restful and restorative that it allows you to live your best, most vibrant life.
Our biggest break so far happened last month, when we got to see our Scrumptious Pillows strut their stuff on The View! Exposure of that magnitude exceeded our wildest dreams, and the reach it has given us affords us the opportunity to make a true impact on the sleep of so many more people than we ever could have imagined. This has been a truly unimaginable gift, and hearing the voices of so many new, better rested, and grateful customers has further confirmed for us that we have the ability to make a positive difference in people's lives. That very fact makes us more determined than ever to keep going, keep growing, and keep pursuing this passion of ours.

If you know us personally, or have been following our company for any length of time, I'm sure you've heard us say before that running a business was never in our plans when all of this started, and managing the logistics of that has been by far the hardest part of our journey. We believe with all our hearts that every single person deserves to have access to the tools necessary to improve their sleep. Because we feel so strongly about this, we would give our pillows away if we could (and trust us, we certainly do so whenever we can). The hard truth is, however, that this is not the way to grow a business, and without growth, our business would eventually cease to exist. Not only would that mean that we would have let down all of our loyal customers (as well as our dedicated employees and their families), but it would also mean that we would lose our platform for educating others on the importance of sleep, and the possibility of waking up pain free and living life to the fullest.
Because of this, we have made the difficult decision to increase our prices. Throughout the entire history of Honeydew, we have only increased our prices once, even though the cost of our materials has continued to rise every year. We never want to disappoint our customers, and we have always done everything in our power to shoulder the increased costs without passing them along to you. Unfortunately, there is a limit to how long a company can do this before it becomes unsustainable, and we are at the point where we either increase our prices, or outsource production and settle for lower quality. Of course, the latter would be a major disservice to our customers, and a huge departure from who we are and what we stand for. We are fully committed to continuing to make your pillows the way we always have: With love, by hand at our own factory in Southern California. We couldn't possibly give away this piece of ourselves, as we believe that our extremely high standards and unwavering dedication to quality is one of the core things that makes us, and our products, so special.

We know that a price increase is never welcome news, and so we wanted to be transparent about it in advance, and also give you the opportunity to make any purchases you have been thinking of making before it goes into effect. The new pricing will go live July 1st, 2024, and to help put things in perspective, even with this new increase the cost of a Scrumptious Side Sleeper Pillow & Pillowcase is still only 11% higher than it was on the day we launched Honeydew in 2017. We realize this is not insignificant, but we wanted you to know that we have made these changes as gradually and conservatively as possible.
We also want to take this opportunity to let you know of another change we are making, and this one, we are happy to say, is for the better! Starting on July 1st, all Scrumptious Side Sleeper and Classic Scrumptious Pillows will include one of our custom fitted Scrumptious Pillowcases inside every box. These cases are made from viscose derived from 100% Organic Bamboo, a fabric that is wonderful for sensitive skin and enhances the cooling of your pillow. Most importantly, they have been meticulously tailored to fit perfectly and expertly accommodate every curve of your pillow's specific size and shape.
We listen to all of the feedback that we get from our customers, and always strive to do whatever we can to improve your experience in any way possible. We have known for a long time that our pillowcases enhance the experience of using our pillows. The vast majority of our customers know this too, as most people purchase one of our pillowcases at the same time as their pillow. That being said, our pillows have always been available separately, and sometimes when someone buys the pillow by itself, they will reach out to us complaining about their own pillowcase slipping, twisting, bunching, or sliding off, exposing half of their pillow at night while they are sleeping. We don't want this.
Furthermore, the wrong fabric can significantly change the feel and support that your pillow offers. If the pillowcase fabric is too thick, it prevents the pillow from conforming properly to your neck and shoulders. If it is too tight, it will compromise the support and the luxurious feel that make Honeydew pillows so special. Also, our pillows are designed to regulate temperature while you sleep, but when they are used with a non-breathable fabric (like a microfiber or satin polyester), those pillowcases can cause heat retention and perspiration, both of which will negatively impact your sleep quality.
We also want to take this opportunity to let you know of another change we are making, and this one, we are happy to say, is for the better! Every move we have made in our business so far has been thoughtfully considered and made with the customer experience and satisfaction in mind. This decision follows in that very tradition. We worked so hard to make a pillow that would perform a certain way, and the pillowcase plays too important of a role to ever be excluded - They just make the most sense as a team. The included pillowcases will be Powdered Sugar, but don't worry - they are still available separately in all five colors that you know and love (Powdered Sugar, Silver Lining, Coastal Blue, Morning Mint, and Stardust). We are of course also still offering our delicious Mulberry Silk Luxury Pillowcases in Powdered Sugar and Lunar Eclipse (and I am excited to say that these are now available for ALL of our pillows - Including our Classic Pillows and Body by Honeydew as well!). Rest assured, if you were worried that we would no longer have any budget options available, we have decided that our fantastic Essence Pillows will remain available a la carte for now (but of course, we will always recommend one of our dedicated pillowcases for the optimal experience. If you haven't tried them, trust us - once you feel the difference, you will understand!).
