2023: our most wonderful wrap!

Hannah here from Clevr Blends, writing to you from a cozy, blanketed nook, hot chai in hand, with the first rain of winter soaking into the grateful earth here in Santa Barbara.

I'm also writing as we end our first 'teenage' year as a brand. Less so unrequited love and existential angst (well, a little existential angst—it's 2023), and moreso bigger decisions, wilder dreams, and a good dose of soul searching. And I've loved every minute of it.

Here are some undeniably wonderful things that happened this year:

• Revamped our giveback program, creating the Food Action Fund—a grant for food-justice initiatives that don't qualify for 501c3 funding, and thanks to you, pledged $60,000 to seed the fund.
• #1 in our category at Erewhon
• Signed a with major retailer — stay tuned for an announcement soon!
• Revived the Clevr Bar events team, and got to meet thousands of you in person! You're wonderful, by the way.
• Filmed a rather silly, rather viral video with our fave surprise guest & biggest advocate.
• Innovated & launched an entirely new drink category — SuperTeas!
• Formulated our most complex blend yet: London Fog (maaany long R&D weekends with Rog testing 50+ ingredients — we landed on a blend of 3 different bergamots, 2 vanillas and 2 black teas to get the perfect flavor profile!)
• Sold out Rose Matcha in 2 days
• Asked for your guidance more than ever (sorry for all the surveys) - and got to have YOU guide our next chapter
• As always: laughed, cried, and made silly videos with our precious team who we adore.

Sneak peak because you've read this far: the next 6 months will be super exciting for us. Look out for a brand new Clevr aesthetic (!!!), more creative flavors, and your fave lattes in a certain rather large store near you :) Big girl moves.

 

So, on soul searching—what is our place in a world that seems equal parts inexplicably beautiful, and gut-wrenchingly sad?

 

I feel clear here: we exist to create small, everyday joys that you can rely on in an unpredictable world. We're here as an antidote to anxious times, to make the b-roll of your life (which is most of it, really) a little more easeful. So if at any point this year, you sat down to a cup of Clevr, and got up again feeling a little more at peace, or a little more energized to take on your day, I know we've done our job.

We couldn't do any of this without you. Thank you, each one of you, for continuing to believe in us, for trusting us with your precious daily rituals, and for supporting this small, passionate group of people with big dreams.
