Former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr openly critiqued the linguistic capabilities of ex-President Donald Trump during an event at the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics. Responding to a question about Trump's mental acuity, Barr pointed out that Trump's language often lacks precision and is overly repetitive.
The audience's laughter underscored the growing distance between the two, a rift deepened by Trump's recent federal indictments, which Barr endorses.
Having served under Trump for two years, Barr resigned in late 2020, citing a lack of evidence for Trump's claims of election fraud. He has also given testimony in the congressional inquiry into the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol.
