Located in Busan, the Haedong Yonggungsa Temple was built directly into the rocky outcroppings lining the East Sea. The structure was built in the 14th century but was destroyed during the 16th century Imjin War with the Japanese. In the 1970s, it was rebuilt in its current form and has become both a popular tourist attraction and a place of spiritual pilgrimage.
