Your Packing List
Shorts, tank tops, and breathable fabrics are a must this time of year.
You'll want to avoid wearing open-toed sandals while walking, so bring a pair of comfortable shoes for getting around the city.
If you plan on visiting shops, museums, or other indoor attractions, you may want to bring an extra layer like a pullover.
You'll also need nice attire if you plan to attend a show or go to an upscale restaurant.
Deep in the dense tropical forest of Meghalaya in northeast India, and shrouded in cloud and rain for much of the year, are some astonishing man-made natural wonders. Known as living root bridges, inventive members of the Khasi tribe have trained them to grow from the roots of ancient rubber trees, native to the region. The root bridges provide a stable alternative to wooden bridges, which decay and get destroyed during the lengthy monsoon seasons. There are two places that you can see the bridges: near Cherrapunji and Mawlynnong.
