From Diana Rattray, your Guide to Southern Food
This week, recipes include a delicious pasta and beef recipe, simple to a goulash or American chopped suey. Also, chocolate sour cream cupcakes, fried fish fillets, roasted chicken, and a homemade chocolate pudding.

Pasta With Ground Beef and Tomatoes
The chili-style tomatoes and Cajun seasoning give this ground beef and pasta dish an extra burst of flavor. I used cavatappi in this recipe, but macaroni, mini penne, or similar pasta will work just as well. This makes a great everyday family meal.

Chocolate Sour Cream Cupcakes
Top these tasty chocolate sour cream cupcakes with Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting or your favorite frosting or ganache.

Roasted Chicken Quarters With Herbs
The combination of lemon, herbs, and generous amount of garlic help make this easy baked chicken extra-flavorful. It's an excellent dish to serve for an everyday family meal, or fix it for a Sunday dinner.

Pork Tenderloin With Chipotle Chile Sauce
Lean and delicious pork tenderloin can be roasted, pan-fried, grilled, or braised, and it teams up so well with many different flavors. If you like hot and spicy flavors, add an extra finely chopped chipotle pepper and a little more of the adobo sauce to this pork tenderloin recipe. Serve this tasty pork with potatoes and corn, or choose your family's favorite vegetables or a tossed or chopped salad.

Impressive masterworks
Don't miss out on your chance to see 55 paintings and drawings by well-known Impressionist artists like Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoire, Camille Pissarro and Alfred Sisley. The Columbia Museum of Art's latest exhibition, Impressionism from Monet to Matisse also has a few academic pieces. Curator Will Smith Says, "This is a show full of artistic richness where one may meditate for hours on why painting continues to fire our imaginations."

Topiary whimsy
Pearl Fryar crafts masterpieces of a different kind right in his yard. No paint necessary, just a gas-powered hedge trimmer. Fryar cuts trees and shrubs into whimsical art of all shapes and sizes and wows avid gardeners and visitors from around the country. Pearl Fryar's Topiary Garden in Bishopville is open year round Tuesday through Saturday. Tours of the three-acre topiary garden are free, but donations are always welcome.

Nature's art
Hike through gorgeous gorges at Eastatoe Creek Heritage Preserve in Pickens County. Along the way, you'll find a steep mountain gorge with old growth hemlock, dramatic rock cliffs, rare ferns and a stream filled with rainbow trout. This natural wonder is a great catch for outdoorsmen and anglers. The view is beautiful all along the 1.4-mile trail through the 374-acre preserve. Plan your trip to this Upstate wilderness.

From Diana Rattray, your Guide to Southern Food
This week, recipes include a tasty cheese and sausage quiche, easy chocolate drop cookies, a simple cheesy broccoli, skillet chicken breasts with tomatoes, honey mustard salmon, banana crepes, and more.

Chocolate Drop Cookies
These cookies are flavorful and chewy, and they're perfect for any occasion. Add chopped walnuts or pecans, or bake them without nuts and sprinkle with a little sugar while they're hot.

Chicken With Wine and Tomatoes
These chicken breasts are quick and easy to prepare in the skillet and they make a great-tasting meal with hot cooked pasta or rice. Or, serve them with baked or roasted potatoes and a side vegetable or tossed salad.

Slow Cooker Texas Pot Roast for Sandwiches
This easy and flavorful pot roast has nice barbecue flavor with a tangy, great-tasting homemade sauce. Shred the pot roast and serve on toasted buns with slaw and beans. The sandwiches make a great game day lunch or a rainy day barbecue.

Easy Cheesy Broccoli
This quick and easy dish is a nice way to prepare fresh broccoli. The broccoli is served hot with shredded Cheddar cheese and toasted almonds.
